This botanical garden is the first of its kind and keeps representative plants growing in marsh in Japan. In the botanical garden visitors can see 200 kinds of marshy plants which grow in marshy regions with 1300 kinds of alpine plants, and other overseas plants, 1700 kinds all together . As visitors proceed, they can see all kinds of flowers from those which grow in lower areas to higher areas and those from dry areas to marshy areas.

Begonias, famous around the world, and foreign orchilds are displayed here. In the building 1, gajuramu, a 200 year old tree which is the biggest in the Honshu island, and begonias are displayed. In the building 2 one can see cattleyas and moth orchilds while in the building 3, bananas, pinapples and other tropical plants can be seen. Along paths connecting the buildings cactuses, saintpaulias, fleshey plants and other plants are displayed throughout the year. In addition, special exhibitions in which rare plants are displayed are held 4 times a year.
