Stone Images of Buddha in Motohakone was made in the Kamakura Period (AD.1200-1300), the large-scale Buddhism remains.

This point is the most rugged pass in old highway "Yusaka-michi". For the reason of very severe climate and desolate scenery, it knew widely as a ground of the hell.

Stone Images stands in a line to go along the road in seven groups.

Theese are the historic spot of the country and important cultural asset, Technical investigation was done in Showa63(AD.1988) to Heisei4 (AD.1992).

As for the preservation repair project, planning started at Heise2 (AD.1990), construction was done between Heise4 to 9 (AD.1992 to 1997).

All maintenance is completed at present, and it has been resumed since April 24 1998.

• From Yumoto station, by Izu-Hakone Bus, Hakone-Tozan Bus (For Hakone,Moto-Hakone), get off at "Rokudo-Jizo" (about 45 minutes).
